Ian Sharp was born on 13 November 1946 in Clitheroe, England.

Credits

Ian Sharp entered the entertainment industry through BBC Radio working as a studio manager, and in television working as a researcher, later a director.

Between 1973 and 1975 he directed over 40 films for "That's Life" and followed this by seven films in the series "The Big Time Director", for which he won the BBC nomination to the Royal Television Society for Creative Contribution behind the camera and the BBC nomination to the R.T.S. for Original Programme Award. In 1978-79, he travelled making films for Arena and Omnibus.

In 1980, he directed the series 2 of "Minder" and several episodes of "The Professionals". In 1981, he repeated the success by directing a further episode of each and going on to direct "Who Dares Wins" and "The Music Machine", on which he was Director/co-scriptor. This was followed by RoS.

Since RoS, he has directed the second unit on "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", "The Corsican Brothers" (with Mark Ryan); "Split Second" and "Code Name: Kyril" for HBO. He also did an episode of "The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne" (with Michael Praed).
